Nathi clinches April MTN Masters title


The Royal Swazi golf course was abuzz with excitement as golfers gathered for the April 2025 edition of the #MonthlyMasters tournament. 

Congratulations are in order for Nathi Tsabedze, who emerged victorious after amassing an impressive 38 points to claim the coveted title.

Hot on his heels were Martin L and Lenny Mkhonta, who both finished with 37 points. However, it was Martin who secured second place, with Lenny taking third following a count-out.


The tournament also saw a number of standout performances in the novelty categories. Vati Mamba claimed the Nearest to the Pin on hole 18, while Mfundo Nxumalo and Nosmilo Kgomo demonstrated their power by winning the Longest Drive titles for men and women respectively.

A special shout out goes to all the golfers who took part, showcasing great sportsmanship and skill throughout the day. Well done to all the winners and participants for making the event a resounding success.

  MAGUGA - Prince Mkhandlowemakhosi, also known as Nhlavu (traditional initiation name) joined His Majesty King Mswati III on Saturday when he toured Maguga Dam. Prince Mkhandlowemakhosi is one of the youngest princes and the child of Inkhosikati LaMashwama. The king commissioned the Maguga hydropower expansion project during the tour.  The project will see the Maguga power station produce an extra 10MW, bringing the total power capacity at the plant to 30MW.  His Majesty was also briefed about other pipeline projects around Maguga as well as on another prospective power project at Ngwemphisi, which is expected to produce 120MW of electricity. 40c per litre to go to roads maintenance

  From midnight April 4, Eswatini will introduce fuel levy to support critical road infrastructure projects. A 40 cents per litre Roads Authority Levy will be introduced on fuel prices. This announcement was made by the Ministry of Finance during the recent budget speech, aligning with the provisions of the Roads Authority Act of 2023.  The levy is designed to generate funds for essential road infrastructure projects aimed at improving safety and connectivity for all road users across the country. Despite concerns about potential fuel price hikes, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Energy has assured the public that the levy will not result in an increase in fuel prices. Instead, it will be allocated specifically to addressing the deteriorating state of Eswatini’s road network.
